This place was awesome! Me and my wife went there to see Amigo the Devil, which we had been looking forward to for quite some time. To our delight, a woman by the name of Suzanne Santo was there. She didn't have a band with her but she didn't need one. She was a beautiful soul with an amazing voice, and she put on one h*** of a performance. Afterward, TK and the Holy Know Nothings came on, and they were very energetic even though some of the songs were on the slower side (which I love). Then, last but not least, Amigo the Devil was on and a guy in a white t-shirt found his way in front of me after pushing me and saying we bought the same general admission ticket and that I needed to get over it.. long story short, don't interact with drunk people who are rude for no reason. I highly recommend going here! Amigo the Devil was amazing. Danny is a big teddy bear who really cares. I know this is supposed to be a review about Trees but the bands we saw were the hype of the night. I definitely loved the fact that there were trees in the establishment. It made it feel like home. ✨️

Historical Deep Ellum venue is an excellent place to see and HEAR live music in Dallas. The sound is incredible. I was very impressed with how clear and well mixed the bands were. The downstairs can get pretty crowded depending on the performers, but the upstairs balcony has excellent seating and restroom access. Capacity seemed to be somewhere in the 650 to 750 range, so if you can see a top tier performance in a smaller setting (as opposed to a 13,000 seat hall) it's always a treat. Cannot say enough for the quality of the audio.

Great intimate music venue. I saw Lacey Sturm and it was a great show. The sound mixing was off for all the bands. The Vocals were not loud enough and I stood in multiple places. I'm not sure if that is the acoustics of the room or a bad mixing night.

Special shout out to the staff and how helpful they are. I've visited the venue twice over the last month with a friend that has limited mobility. Both times they were more than accommodating for her (including helping to carry her out when she injured herself in the bathroom - no fault to the venue, it just happens).

Super friendly door staff, amazing bartenders, always killer performances, plenty of room great upstairs staff and view of the stage. Bouncers are polite and efficient, checking everyone before entering the venue, and moving the line quickly. Two thumbs up.

Management responded. See below. Nowhere on the Trees or ticket seller website does it say Charity or Toy required.

Bought tickets for a show. Was told at the door there was an additional $23 charge.

Doesn't say this on the Trees site or the Pre Kindle site. Says Toys for Tots. Doesn't say required. And $5? Then why you charging $23?

So they stole $25 from me for the ticket.

Going to post images FROM YOUR WEBSITE and your TICKET SELLER that do not indicate $5 charity.

Trees is a great venue. I'll admit that I always start with bad reviews and was second guessing whether or not we should come down here. Turns out any worries we have were completely unfounded. The staff we talked with were all cool. Door staff let us in quickly with no issues (we brought our 12 year old daughter with us and were worried how that'd go... totally fine by the way). We were there for Lockjaw's Album release.

Tips for a good experience would be to arrive a little early for easy-ish parking. We found a lot maybe a block or so away. We did get in line about 15 min early and it was hot so bring some water with you (gotta finish it BEFORE you get let in though). We bought tickets in advance and it was easy just getting scanned in. Line started moving right at 1 min before door opening so that was cool.

And I guess just don't be rude or dumb around the staff and you'll be fine. I'll think previous reviews about negative staff are likely people who broke obvious rules and don't want to he responsible for their actions. Maybe not, but all the staff we had interactions with were cool. We had a great time and will definitely be back if/when another act we want to see is performing there. Thanks Trees!
