I recently visited The Mirror and had a generally great time. The old-fashioned drinks were fantastic—smooth and expertly crafted, making for a really enjoyable experience. The atmosphere of the place is definitely a highlight, with a unique and stylish vibe that adds to the overall appeal. However, it can be a bit challenging to see in certain areas, especially with the no-flashlight rule, which makes it hard to read the menu or navigate at times.

While the ambiance is great, the noise from the crowd and music can make it difficult to have a conversation, especially if you’re looking for a quieter place to sit and chat. Overall, The Mirror is a fun spot with excellent drinks and a cool atmosphere, but it might not be the best choice if you're looking for a more relaxed or intimate environment.

This is definitely a neighborhood favorite. I love that it is an actual speakeasy, no signs outside it was one of my favorite parts. The vibes were amazing, service was fast and super nice, the bathrooms are clean. The couches were such a nice touch and it is like a dark moody place but you can still see in front of you. Other people saying it is too dark ( not accurate)
Had a great time and this will definitely be my new hangout spot.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had the pleasure of visiting The Mirror, a speakeasy in downtown DC, while in town for a conference with my colleague. We decided to drop by last minute right before closing, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience.

The ambiance was incredible, offering a perfect blend of elegance and mystery. The highlight of our visit was the bartender, who was truly amazing. Despite the late hour, they welcomed us with exceptional service and crafted some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had.

The Mirror is a hidden gem that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and delightful night out. If you’re in DC, make sure to check it out – you won’t be disappointed!

Drinks are pretty basic they have old fashions and other typical drinks but I was disappointed that none had any “special” touch from the bartenders…no original cocktails. The worst part is it is SO dark you literally can’t see the menu and they tell you not to use a phone light so we left out of frustration and annoyance. Very loud, kinda kills the “speakeasy” vibe

This place offers a truly unique experience. Finding it is part of the fun—there’s no sign, and you’ll need to locate a hidden mirror door in the basement. It really captures the feel of Prohibition times with its dim, moody atmosphere, and you’re not allowed to use a flashlight inside. The menu, creatively printed on cardboard from spirit boxes, adds to the charm. They have a late happy hour until 7:30 PM, and the cocktails I tried were great. One of them, the Sunflower, even includes absinthe as an ingredient.

The vibe has always been private but welcoming. Music selection, therapeutic. I heard an MF Doom joint that I haven’t heard in years. Oh and the bartenders make some tasty trippy sauce.

Overly loud music kills any chance of a cool vibe. We went on a Friday night was fairly crowded and the 2 bartenders could not keep up. Drinks are basically flavored sugar water and your alcohol of choice. Seems more like a buds basement bar with a “speakeasy “ thrown in because of the “front door/mirror”.
