We were in this bar all day yesterday after a funeral reception with family and friends who flew in from all over the world. We chose this bar entirely by random. I have always heard about 'people are so friendly' stories but yesterday was the first time I had that experience with so many local Belgians in the bar who went to extensive efforts to introduce themselves and ask where we were from and paying respects to someone they didn't know at all. Anyone can make fiends in this special Belgian bar if you stay long enough. It was such a tonic for the soul and the heart and strangers and the owner made us feel beyond welcome, and cared for us during what was a sad time. It's a memory and kindness I needed and will remember a lifetime. Thank you for being so Belgian, welcoming and caring.

My boyfriend and I, a biracial couple, visited 't Sloeberke during the Tomorrowland music festival last month. Initially, we had a pleasant experience. The staff seemed friendly, and the rules, such as leaving a small deposit for glassware that was returned upon bringing back the glass, were practical and straightforward.

The following day, we passed by the establishment again, and my boyfriend suggested we stop in. As a fellow business owner, he enjoys meeting new people and always tries to be kind and respectful. After ordering a beer, he turned to the owner, shook his hand, and mentioned that we had visited the day before.

To our shock, the owner looked him in the eye and said, "I remember you. I'm the owner. I was happy when you left," followed by a mocking laugh. This comment was deeply hurtful and left us both feeling uncomfortable.

While we will never know what the owner's intentions were, I truly believe the remark was racially motivated. This experience marred what could have been a positive memory.

I took some time to reflect before writing this review, hoping to be fair. Unfortunately, the incident left us with a lasting negative impression. This was our fourth year visiting Boom, and we plan to return next year. However, we will not be revisiting this establishment. We hope the management reflects on the impact such behavior can have on their patrons.

We kwamen er voor de 1 keer binneb ik mijn vriend en nog een hetero koppel, was daar echt zo marginaal , heh volk was uit op ruzie en boksen, zowel de uitbaatster als het klienteel is super marginaal volk, nooit zullen wij der nog een voet binnenzetten en zullen deze ook rondzeggen goe het eraan toegaat, ook geen scanning vh covid pass, nix gewoon, echt niet te doen daar, ben 54 j oud en nog NOOIT meegemaakt
