Booked an appointment for 11am; came early the salon was not open until 11am on the dot. Not major but off putting. We booked so the three of us could go simultaneously but found when we entered they were not ready or sure they could take us at the same time. When finally seated we found we were rushed through the process which was difficult since we had not had acrylics done before and were unsure if we wanted acrylics or gels or what would be best for us. They assumed acrylics so we were okay with that as they obviously would know more than us as they are the professionals. Two of the three were pretty good however the third staff was inexperienced which we later learned was because they only had two nail techs on site today which is interesting considering they accepted several nail appointments at the same time alongside some pedicures. Our techs were being pulled to prep other people and starting other peoples nails in between ours when there was even a small break. Nobody explained anything to us or prompted an explanation of what we could have done. If not for me having gone to a nail salon before I wouldn't even have know to look through the colours ahead of time while waiting for our appointment (even though it was past our appointment time). One of the technicians was later pulled to go start a new patrons pedicure and the nails were taken over by the owner. Who was lovely however quite fast so we felt quite rushed in the process. I found throughout the process I was being cut and was injured with the tools more than my family was when discussing afterwards. It felt very poorly prepared and rushed and my hands are definitely sore because of it. Some steps were missed (ex. one did not get all of her nails shaped and cleaned underneath). We very much felt as though we were a hassle and in the way of their regular clientele.
I feel the nails do not show the same as the work on their Instagram page and we are overall quite disappointed with their work and effort. I feel slightly embarrassed to post a picture of my nails due to the poor quality.
* Note that is possibly due to my inexperience in the situation however I was expecting my acrylics (matte red) to be done with a red acrylic powder/paste however they were done with a neutral color and then simply polish on top of the acrylics. I am not sure if this is standard but I know that is what I want not just polish on top of essentially plastic press on nails. We ended with white/pink acrylics with gel polish which is just not what I wanted to pay for or wanted. *
Mine; red.
Are translucent in color and streaky. I do not mind if you can not recreate them however I would prefer to be told this ahead of time so I can change my idea.
Mothers; green.
Did not have a concrete plan going in so she was open to the techs suggestions however her designs needed another coat they did not receive in the rush and switching of technicians.
Sister; sparkles.
Brought a picture (attached) for her nails and did not end up with her nails looking really much like it at all. Luckily she still likes them but this was her grad nails.
Overall I would say they were well meaning but I would much rather be told to come another day or wait to see the actual nail techs rather than the other employees if this is what the results are. I will not be returning due to the experience and will instead seek out another location to remove them when the time comes. I just hope they take the advice into consideration going forward with accepting new reservations.
Open to talk about my experience if needed.
