My husband and I tried this place for the first time today after driving by a few times. I had the small smothered pork chop dinner with collard greens and macaroni and cheese. My husband had the catfish with Mac and yams. The catfish took awhile to come out but according to hubby it's well worth it! My dinner was so delicious! Nothing was too salty. Seasoned to perfection and tender. We also bought a slice of sweet potato pie and cheesecake. The sweet potato pie slice was rather small but tasty. The cheesecake was also very flavorful. I'm happy this place is close by. Will certainly come back!

Came in town for a “ Stay & Play “ , @ the age restricted community not to far from there Valencia At Riverland , & few of the ladies recommended you , so we tried it . No disappointment … the food was cooked as if I was in someone’s house I knew . The chicken …. Just left the bone . The cheesecake , with that extra strawberry glaze on it . The young man fixed it just right . We heard you were kinda pricey , not to us … Thanks … & when we head towards Va …. We may hit the 1 in Charlotte , hope to have the same experience.

Despite some of the negative reviews, I decided to try this place and I'm glad I did. We were greeted when we entered and every single employee was smiling and welcoming. I ordered the small fried chicken (white meat) with sweet yams, and Mac n cheese. I also asked for a little taste of the stuffing/gravy and they were happy to provide that. The chicken was awesome. Seasoned well and juicy inside. The sweet yams were also awesome..heaven on a plate. The Mac n cheese was okay, definitely cheesy, but just not as good as the homemade Mac n cheese I'm used to. Overall, I enjoyed the food and will be back. I saw a few reviews mentioning skimpy portions but they seemed to have rectified that as I ended up bringing home half my food. Give this place a chance. The ambiance is nice and they have a lot of menu options so there's something here for everyone!

It is highly disappointing for the lack of accountability and poor customer service this restaurant chooses to have towards customers. I utilized the Instacart App with UberEats to order dinner for my family… a pickup order. Upon picking up and checking my food, it was discovered my food was severely burned and when I called the restaurant to remedy the issue by requesting the plates of food to be remade, I was told that there weren’t any type of remedy that could be provided because I ordered the pickup order through Instacart/UberEats. I didn’t ask for a refund, I simply asked to bring the food back in and have my orders remade. The lack of accountability is troubling and while I’m not into discouraging people how to spend their money, I will say, caution your spending when deciding to eat here. It’s was your food, your cooking… For the record: I was a “repeat- customer”

Some of the best food I’ve had. First time in. Had the ribs, Mac and cheese and the yams, and genuinely some of the best food I’ve eaten. The guys at the front were awesome, helped us through it all and gave us recommendations. Wish i got their names. Will definitely be back.

The best!!!!! Real Soul Food!!! So we visited on Wednesday afternoon and the atmosphere and friendly service was amazing. We destroyed the food and never took pictures. so tonight, Friday, my husband wanted a good dinner and was skeptical about ordering DD delivery. Thank God we did!!! The food was completely sealed and smoking hot! Every bite is seasoned so well. The portions are BIG, the catfish, Mac and cheese, ribs, curry rice, and fried chicken are so good. Prices are normal. You know cannot get food like this anywhere in PSL so enjoy the friendly service, fresh food and don’t forget to get the red koolaid because you need it.

Their mac and cheese, fried chicken, mash potatoes and gravy are phenomenal! The food here is fresh and delicious and they play great soul music. Affordable prices for the amount of food they give with a drink!! don’t walk run ‍♀️
