We have just returned from a week’s stay at L’Orangerie and had a fantastic time! The property is incredible and much larger than we expected. We were a mixed group of families with children, so having lots of outside space was perfect and the heated pool was ideal when the weather was a little cooler.

All the bedrooms are lovely with amazing views and all en suite, there is a lot of stairs so something to be aware of if you had mobility issues.

The house is a very short walk from the town of Duras where we enjoyed the local cafe’s and restaurants and the market on the Monday morning.

During our stay we had cars so travelled around the area including a boat trip at Saint Foy.

The host Olly was so helpful from sorting restaurant reservations and also arranging for a wine tasting at the house which was ideal for us and we had children in the group so much easier than taking them to a vineyard.

Anyone who gets the chance to stay here is very lucky! It’s a fantastic property in a beautiful place

Where to begin with L’orangerie Duras… A stunning property in the heart of the quiet village of Duras. The house itself oozes charm and character throughout. It is spacious and modern, whilst still maintaining a cosy, homely feel.

Olly is a fantastic host who has great attention to detail and has considered everything a guest may need. Kitchens are well equipped and there are two lovely seating areas outside, one by the pool & the other in the back garden (including a BBQ at each).

The views are amazing too. From the front of the property you can see a view of the valley & sunset from the gin terrace and at the back you overlook Duras Castle, which is a beautiful building you feel privileged to have such a great view of.

I could not recommend this property enough and would love to return in the near future. I know there are some retreats planned in towards the end of the Summer which sound amazing too! If you choose to book a stay here I guarantee you won’t regret it!

Thank you again Olly for a marvellous stay & we hope to see you again soon!

What can I say - L'Orangerie Duras blew us away from start to finish! Olly is just a 5*+++ host! He was there to meet us and show us around his stunning house and gave us lots of advice and tips for the local area. The house itself is just stunning; the original staircases, the Parisian style doors in the upper living room, the sleek kitchens, no expense has been spared in the interior and Olly has literally thought of everything: from beautiful Le Creuset mugs and cookware, Marshall sound system, the comfiest beds, The White Company towels, every single piece of equipment you could possibly need in both kitchens. Two kitchens! We were so spoilt - we ended up using the kitchen by the pool the most and it was perfect for our two families. We have to mention the Floris shower products (and scents) in every bathroom in the villa - we all smelt so good whilst were there and will be purchasing some when we get home!!!

The bedrooms were just superb - The children were so excited choosing their rooms - I often find that there is an obvious master suite in airbnb villas but it wasn't the case at L'orangerie - each had it's own style, the upper rooms were all equal size and all had exceptional views over the countryside so it was almost impossible to choose our rooms!

The pool was fantastic and much bigger than we expected and just off the Lowrys kitchen with a comfy outdoor sofa area right beside it. It was a nice open space so not many mossies. Lots of parasols for shade around the garden. The views were spectacular! parking was perfect and we easily fit our two cars.

We booked L'Orangerie without knowing anything about the area and we were so pleasantly surprised. A 4 minute walk into town past the stunning castle which made it the perfect location. Duras is really quaint and has an absolutely amazing boulangerie and butcher, a few restaurants (book once you arrive if in peak season!). The Monday day market is really nice and the Thursday night market is bubbling with atmosphere. Grab some moules frites, a bottle of rose and sit at the banquet tables in the square and soak in the music and atmosphere - it was brilliant. We had great fun going on the app and changing the colours of the castle!!

L'Orangerie is a benchmark which will be difficult for our future trips to top! we will definitely be back!!

With spectacular views over the valley, L'Orangerie is stylish, luxurious, comfortable and relaxing.

All the south facing rooms have been elegantly and thoughtfully appointed with sumptuous mattresses and bed linen and luxurious bathroom toiletries. Every detail has been considered to provide guests with the utmost comfort. The ground floor, open-plan space with kitchen/dining and lounge areas is perfect for a day by the pool and summertime dining whilst the second floor kitchen/dining and lounge area has more far-reaching views and is ideal for cosier dining.

The house feels secluded and private whilst also being only a 5 minute walk from Duras village which has a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants.

While on my 5 day stay at L'Orangerie we also enjoyed a day trip to Bordeaux (about a 1 hour drive away) and Toulouse (a 2 hour drive) - both beautiful cities worth a visit and there are also lots of other lovely, picturesque local villages to visit in the local area.

Overall, it was a wonderful holiday - A stunning house with spacious rooms in a beautiful location. Highly recommended.

If you want to feel like you have really got away from it all and landed in the lap of luxury, this is the place to go. The Orangerie is an unusual and intriguing building with very spacious and airy rooms. The views are stunning over the nearby vineyards and the local markets and artisanal shops provide all the lovely cheese and wine you need to complete the experience. Everything in the Orangerie has been well thought through from the fluffy bedding and boutique hotel standard bathroom products to art on the walls.

We were there with our whole family, I did not handle the booking part so I can't comment on the interaction with the owner.
The place itself is veryvery nice. The pool area is very relaxing, the garden is quite big, the outdoor kitchen is very nice and also fully equipped. The rooms are very big, comfy beds and a well equipped and big kitchen with another sitting area.

The only reason I did not give 5* is that as of now, the place seems to being renovated and it shows in the details. The shower-bars are not holding up too well, one toilet was not working properly, certain bathroom-windows could not be opened, the electrical wiring was sketchy and while there was Wlan, it was only available in one room. A TV was available but apparently the cable was cut. We could have used another persons Netflix who did not log out but decided not to.

All in all the stay was very relaxing and I enjoyed it a lot.

Fantastisch huis, goed geoutilleerd, naast een prachtig kasteel en op loopafstand bij het levendige stadje Duras.
Ruim zwembad en beschutte tuin en last but not least zeer sympathieke betrokken gastheren !
We hebben hier een hele fijne tijd gehad.
