This is a beautiful old style little bar with amazing service and even better food and drinks. We stopped in on a hot afternoon in the summer and had a fantastic waiter who made perfect recommendations for some afternoon cocktails and served us an incredible blue corn bread skillet with popcorned butter. It's pricey, but definitely worth the indulgence. We will probably return for desserts later on!

The burger is delicious, we ended up getting it without the bun and added avocado!!! Our server was fantastic and super accommodating. Highly recommend. The bar seating is open seating and the patio you will need to request at the host stand.

Bad experience. It is located at Jerome Hotel. The hotel is very nice and the bar has the same decoration. Service is good.
But food was disappointing. We came for the burger as we were told it was one of the best in Aspen. Unfortunately it was one of the worst my husband ever had. The bread supposed to be a brioche, was too hard and looked old. The meat had pieces of hard fat that was impossible to eat. Fries were very salty.
I had the only vegetarian dish (besides saladas), it was the orecchiette with tomato, broccoli and olives. It was a big portion and it was good.
But overall we were not lucky with the burger - supposed to be the best in aspen..
25 dollars for a horrible burger was ridiculous..
Also they charge 22% tip with no option to choose the amount you want to tip…

Amazing atmosphere and service. We stopped in for a beer and a snack and enjoyed our conversation with the bartender Derek (?) so very much. He was engaging and knowledgeable about the food, spirits and area. Definitely will be back for more Hugo Spritz and food!

We'll - it's true! What a great bar and food - fun and brilliant bartenders too! We were looking for "Aspen's Best Hamburger" - I'm sure there are other good ones, but ones been rated #1, and we agree! Beautifully served and delicious - get the fries too! We also had a tasty Caesar Salad snd Lsmb Meatballs w sauce, dates, and figs - yum! Our bartender, Ben was a total pro - made us a few "off the menu" creating drinks - raspberry rum and coffee? - sounds crazy - but was great and he's got sone super-powers for creative drinks. Great good - drinks - people - a d as always, elegant Cowboys and Cowgirls Jerome historic fun!

Sub-par food, sub-par service, way too overpriced, and a 22% surprise gratuity at the end. Portions are quite large, we almost didn't finish everything. We ordered 2 burgers ($29) and a porchetta sandwich ($28). Took a bit long to get food considering the kind of dishes we ordered. Most of the fries were short, as if they were the last ones to be scooped and it wasn't good at all. I don't know how fries can be so unimpressive. Burger brioche bun was dry, not from being grilled but just dry. Meat was not medium and not juicy. It was a lot of meat, though. Overall balance was dry every bite. Porchetta meat was not enough, and the au jus was too salty to really dunk. Side salad was the only impressive thing. It had a really nice balance of flavor. I think it is odd to play sports on so many screens at such a classy decor restaurant. Spend your money elsewhere.

A visit to Aspen isn’t complete without a stop in for at least a drink at the J-Bar! I’ve been in for lunch before but this time stopped in for a drink and dessert and we weren’t disappointed! We were warmly greeted immediately and invited to sit wherever we wanted! Waiter recommended the Mini-Donuts served with Crémé Anglaise, and the Blueberry Pie. Both were so amazing, but I think the table favorite was the blueberry pie! The bar is truly a relaxed and casual environment for families, couples and friends alike. It is expensive and just be aware there is a 22% fee which I wasn’t made aware of until the end. In all fairness it could have been printed on the menu and I didn’t see it?

Cozy, eclectic, rustic and elegant atmosphere. Interesting selection of signature drinks from the full bar, including wines and local beers. The menu is equally intriguing including appetizers, salads, soups, entrees and of course their famous burger! We chose the J Burger topped with Swiss cheese and mushrooms served with French fries of course! We also enjoyed the Confit Lollipop Chicken Drumsticks! Plenty of food for four people although we were only two - so of course we had to take home leftovers....too bad!!! :-). Next time we will have to bring more of an appetite so we can try more from the menu!!

Had drinks and small bites at J-Bar on two occasions now and really enjoy the old school atmosphere and outstanding service. The bar is located within the Hotel Jerome, which is a really nice property. If you're driving there, the hotel allows you to valet your car for up to 3 hours free of charge, assuming you're visiting one of their restaurants within. In any event, J-Bar is a great spot for drinks in downtown Aspen.
