Two of us went to get our hair cut by Julia. She did a fantastic job with both! Our only complaint is that she didn't charge enough. I paid for both cuts thinking I'd only paid for my own haha.

Julia deserves a raise! Highly recommend asking for Julia for your next haircut in the Chester area, and offering up a decent tip if she didn't get a raise.

April 2022 UPDATE

I continue to be impressed by the staff at Double Take Salon.

Tanya gave me another great cut by modifying my last cut based on changes I requested. Again, she listened and heard what I was requesting and refined my ideas.

New to staff is Austin who does manicures and pedicures. This young man is an absolute treasure and great fun to spend an hour or more with. He also listens to what I want and also has some excellent suggestions based on my wants/needs.

So, if you live anywhere in the Chester to Mahone Bay area, and are looking for a salon where the staff are ALL THAT...DOUBLE TAKE SALON definitely is worth any travel time.

February 2022 Second Visit

Tanya gave me the best haircut I have had in three years...and she gave me a great cut three years ago too.

She listened...and heard...what I wanted for a hairstyle. Then she added her own touches to the basics I requested and exceeded my expectations.

Sadly, I have experienced many disastrous and disappointing cuts during the past three years...and paid good money to be reduced to tears. This has made me reluctant to go to a hairdresser for fear of being disappointed once again. However, Tanya is so good at what she does that I am looking forward to my next maintenance visit in six weeks.

I highly recommend Double Take Salon in Chester. If you have difficulty getting a great haircut, Tanya is a goddess. All the staff members are friendly, upbeat, courteous, and helpful.

Double Take Salon gets 5 gold stars...it is a bright, clean, and charming boutique salon located right off Highway 3 just a few houses on the right on Pig's Loop Road in Chester, NS.

OH...I MOST FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THE PRICES FOR BOTH PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ARE EXCEPTIONALLY REASONABLE!!!

Took my 4 yr old nephew here for a cut. Tanya was fantastic. She obviously has worked with lots of children. And did a great haircut, fast. And for a fair price. Hats off to them all there as they have a very welcoming atmosphere.

Tanya is professional and always gives me the cut or style I ask for. She offers suggestions and works with the client to achieve the best possible look.
Trina does a marvellous job with nails and because she can use forms rather than tips, my nails last longer.

I took owner/Master Stylist Tanya's advice and went a bit darker with my hair colour. After a fabulous cut by Tanya, and then the colour, my hair looks healthier than it has in years! Absolutely the look I was hoping for! Thank you Tanya.....we're lucky to have you here in Chester!!!
