We were passing by and staying a night near Halifax and we sort of randomly went to have dinner here. The food was really amazing and it was overall such a great meal. Our bartender Lingjie was also very fun to chat with so we really enjoyed our time here!

The oysters on their back patio was a highlight of the Dartmouth Food Crawl. The oysters were fresh and for $1.50 each. The service was friendly and fast so we had a good experience. My only regret is not getting more of the delicious oysters.

Visited on two occasions so far in summer 2024; once on the patio and once inside - both with a reservation.

On both visits, we had great seating as we were reserved for open. The service was attentive on both occasions as well, with the bartenders/server making sure to let us know about the oyster happy hour (which we were there for both times) and any daily drink options.

We enjoyed the oysters on both visits, which were excellently punctuated with the house hot sauce. We also enjoyed the marinated olives on both visits, and the sourdough with mascarpone and shiitake mushroom on our first. The food quality was all-around great, and I suspect anything else on the menu is equally delicious and enjoyable.

Of course, the cocktails were all excellent. Each of the drinks we tried were well crafted, with unique and interesting ingredients and flavours. It's hard to pick a favorite of the bunch, but your best bet is to choose a cocktail with a spirit you're familiar with, or ask the very helpful folks working to help you narrow down a choice!

Amazing spot for a girl's night out with lots of chatters and a glass of well-made cocktail ?✨️ the vibe of the bar is unmatched with the diverse selection of drinks. Wonderful time at the patio during the summer hot day with a cold drink in your hand! The only downside is that it could get quite loud if you are sitting inside, which you might have to start yelling to the person next to you. Glad to see this place existing in the other side of the harbour from Halifax.

Went here for my best friend's bachelor party. We received royal treatment with customer service and quality of drinks. I'm not typically a mixed drink fan, but I was blown away by the selection of drinks and styles for the prices. (Got the Strawberry Noir, which is in the picture).
The atmosphere was impeccable, I couldn't get enough of how beautiful the decorations were and how small and comfortable it felt being there with friends.
Can't wait to come back next time to visit Dartmouth specifically for this place!

I have been here maybe 4 times before and I typically hold it in very high regard. The cocktails are creative, the atmosphere is cool and the oyster happy hour is a must. However, I brought friends here this past week for oysters and two of us got food poisoning. We had a table of 6 and 4 of us got 1 drink each and altogether we had 20 or so oysters. Some of the drinks were great, the slushy was delicious but a bit small for the price, the night drive is amazing (10/10 highly recommend) but both the “for funks sake” and the “Diamond negroni” fell flat. We had a couple bartenders in our group who thought maybe they were missing some citrus? But both had weird tastes and did not hold up to the hype I had expressed.
The oysters were great as always but like I said two of us spent the rest of the night very sick and confirmed it was food poisoning the next morning.

Overall pretty disappointed, and unsure if I will be back due to the disappointing drinks and poorly handled oysters.

It is one of the best restaurants in Canada & Halifax for a reason! An experience from start to finish. The drinks, the tasting menu, the atmosphere, and the staff were all phenomenal! I can't believe it took me this long to finally try Dear Friend! Jeremy, our server was friendly and welcoming, which helped make our experience awesome! Can't wait to come back!
