I’ve been going to Andrew Nuri for hair perms, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! From the moment I sat in his chair, he made me feel comfortable and confident that I was in expert hands. He took the time to listen to what I wanted, explained the process thoroughly, and customized the perm to suit my hair type and style goals.

The final result was absolutely stunning—my curls looked natural, bouncy, and full of life! Andrew’s attention to detail and skill are unmatched. Not only is he incredibly talented, but he’s also warm, professional, and genuinely passionate about his work.

If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about your hair and knows how to create gorgeous, lasting curls, Andrew Nuri is the stylist you need. I highly recommend him and will definitely be returning for future appointments! 10/10 experience!

He is a respectful professional hair stylist. I like how he cares about costumers and takes time to make sure you are satisfied and comfortable during the procedure.
He offered to adjust my haircut after a few days for free incase I needed some change, which is a professional behavior.
He is an experienced artist and he cut my hair very beautifully.
The only reason why I took one star is because he told me on the phone his haircut is $70, but he charged me $90 because I had long hair ! I didn’t expect that coming and he should have told me the exact price beforehand.
Other than that every thing was good and I like my hair cut!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! If I could leave zero stars I would. This was by far the worst hair cut I have ever had. He was so unprofessional and boasted that he cut hair for over 40 years. I went in for a simple bang trim and some layering JUST ON TOP. I could not have been more specific that I didn't want any length taken because I had been growing my hair for 6 years. He said he understood and started by taking 6 inches of length with the first cut. I was in shock and he just kept hacking. I said no that's too much and he said no I just took a little and then continued to insult me the rest of the appointment by saying my hair feels synthetic it's so dead he's never seen such dead hair before. He even asked me if it was all my real hair or if some were synthetic extensions!!! Sir you have 40 years experience with your hands in my hair and want to know if I have extensions in?!?! Shouldn't you be able to feel that it's all my real hair? What professional doesn't know what they are looking at?!?! He asked me if I was happy and I said no it's too short and he said "well you needed it it was dead anyways". This was probably 2 months ago and I seriously have not stopped crying. I've had to get extensions to try and fix the mess he made. Seriously do not go here unless you hate yourself and want to punish yourself!!

you did not ask me if cutting that length was okay you just did it. You did not ask if you could cut more off you just kept doing it. Every time I said that looks like a lot and that looks like too much you argued with me. You are flat out lying in your response. You did not take your time with me you couldn't even curl my hair! You spent all of 15 minutes ruining my hair, maybe 20 but I doubt it. You called me after and I said I was very unhappy with it but I was trying to make the best of it and hopefully it grows quickly. I was polite and not rude but I did tell you I didn't like it and you apologized but never offered me a refund. Then when I reached out to you 2 weeks after and told you I'd done nothing but cry over it, you completely ignored me. Don't lie just own what you did. I'm trying to warn others, you can't make this better Andrew.

The owner of this salon Andrew Nuri aka Ali is an absolute abnormal, cunning, unskilled and greedy old guy. I went all the way 2 hours drive for getting the hair straightening procedure and haircut done from this salon on seeing the good google rating, but that was the worst decision I ever made and lowest person I ever came across! May be it’s his mental health that he has forgot his skills or probably he has never learnt any!
With aggressive combing, he hurt my right ear so bad, I mentioned him but rigidly he said this is how combing is done. Also he kept spitting at my hair while talking unnecessary during procedure. I tolerated all in courtesy but I was highly disappointed to see the end results of the procedure; my hair did not get straight at all, rather there was burning on my scalp and I can still smell some burning chemical in my hair despite of various washes. The hair also look as if they are burnt; he definitely has used some harsh chemical over them. I am extremely upset the way this unskilled business has spoiled my healthy hair

When I contacted him to let him know that his procedure badly failed, he began to make excuses and ended the call saying he is busy in haircut. I kept calling salon later but he never responded to my phone calls afterwards. I left him a text that this is not a professional way to ignore a client if your procedure fails and he must refund my hard earned 370 CAD which he charged me for the procedure he was not able to do; he texted back that their salon doesn’t refund even if they procedure fails. I understood this greedy guy is unprofessional as-well, that he doesn’t find himself accountable for his failed procedures.
Now I can imagine that he definitely obtained good google rating by begging because such mentally retarded cunning person can never be good at anything. And way cunningly he responds to his negative reviews by telling false things to defend himself and later he spam calls them from unknown numbers. He is such a pathetic person!

I request people to avoid giving false positive reviews even if someone begs you. The review is like a responsibility we owe to our community and we shall be very careful in posting one . So that everyone can be safe from such vulnerable people ; he surely harm others with his aggressiveness!

Addition: in response to owner- I am not surprised by the sequence of false stories you are narrating to defend yourself ; the same you have been doing with previous true bad reviews! I have just alarmed others with my experience at your business! and even if someone miss my review and visit you unfortunately , then they will definitely get to know your mental retardedness themselves because people like you are same with everyone!

An advice at the end: if I really threatened you via messages then you must have a proof of that and shall share its screenshot on google map ! Rather narrating false stories in your defence! Lolz , You must be ashamed of your existence for telling lies to that extent and for being so low ! And yah u must see a psychiatrist too!

I've been getting my hair cut by Andrew Nuri for almost two years, and he’s hands down the best barber I've had. As a student, finding someone in Waterloo who consistently delivers a great cut is tough, but Andrew has NEVER disappointed me. He’s super precise and takes his time to make sure everything looks spot-on and exactly to your liking. What I love most is how social and reasonable he is. Andrew is a very moral guy who genuinely cares about his clients and will go out of his way to make any situation right. Andrew’s the kind of guy who can talk to you about anything, making every visit enjoyable and relaxed. I always leave his chair feeling confident and happy with my cut. If you're looking for a reliable barber in Waterloo who knows what he’s doing, actually cares about getting it right, and is great to chat with, Andrew’s your guy. Can’t recommend him enough!

I recently became a new client of Andrew, and I visited him just two days after a terrible haircut at another salon. From the start, Andrew took the time to carefully explain what could be done to fix the mistakes made by the previous stylist.

He was honest, admitting he’s not a magician but promising to do his best. However, given the uneven, choppy mess left behind by the other stylist’s texturizing scissors, I’d say Andrew truly worked magic. His skill and expertise transformed my hair into something I could finally feel good about.

I’m confident I’ll be returning to his salon again in the future.
