There was not very many people in there, and there’s no wonder why. Not only did it take a while to get service, but they were rude about it. We are ordering with drinks, and it seem to be an inconvenience. They did not have any type of seltzer or twisted tea type of options. The best they could do was lemon vodka, and either lemonade or tea as a suggestion. Was not very clean in my opinion. I definitely will not be going back. The restroom was horrible and the door would not shut.

I was really surprised at how good the food is at the Pub on Penn. The tacos are some of the best I’ve had. We were staying at the Capitol Hill Bed & Breakfast and wanted a quick bite late in the evening. The Pub is very close so we gave it a try and now I would probably go out of my way to go back for the tacos!

This place is great. Standard and/or classic bar fare with the best bartenders around. Their website may suck but Bri is one of the best bartenders around.

Was here on a Saturday night and it was so empty and i couldn’t figure out why, but it seems management here has added a new charge system and it’s automatically authorized 50 bucks as a hold, I spent 28, but it’s still holding 23 bucks and I hate that. I like dive bars because they’re cheap and uncomplicated. The food was okay, well intended but I could go for like one green thing on the plate for the inflated price adjustments sake. the vibes in here were kinda like a mausoleum. The bar tenders were sweethearts, I could feel the management and owner running this into the ground soon. Don’t run this into the ground.

Went in for happy hour after a brutal election night. Bri was bartending and absolutely crushed it. Great happy hour, personable staff and good vibes, we are adding this place to our local bar rotation for sure!

They just add whatever they want to open tabs. I got one pitcher and was charged $60. This has happened multiple times, service is very poor.

Over $40 for two white claws and a cider. Way too overpriced. Then charged two different cards cause they said one card didn't work.

Great local pub vibe.

I’ve stopped by twice this weekend and love having it as my go-to neighborhood bar.

You really can’t beat the location, being close to everything Capitol Hill has to offer, but nicely tucked away on a side street, adding to its neighborhood feel. The staff is super friendly, remembering me after just my first visit and making sure to attend to me quickly even when I come in alone with a book.

Although it has a dive bar thing going on, the food is excellent and fresh. A huge thumbs up to the French fries - warm and crispy!

Given its sports bar leaning the place can attract a bit of a rowdy crowd once in a while, but more often than not it’s super chill and a great place to hang on a hot afternoon.

I am so glad to have this bar as my regular local hangout and look forward to reporting on how it compares to other places on Capitol Hill.
